Overview

This was a part of our 2nd semester design project, a 2-week course guided by Chewang Bhutia. The brief was to reduce a story into 10 square frames and illustrate it without using dialogues.

The Idea

Inspired by a childhood memory, this story explores the chaos, discomfort and unexpected warmth of traveling in a general train coach.

It follows a young boy lost in a sea of people, squeezed between luggage, strangers, and the constant hum of movement. As he drifts into sleep, the crowd transforms into a surreal dreamscape; a train made entirely of people. He sees a chance to escape, to breathe, to be free. But the thought of leaving his family behind pulls him back.

He wakes up, still in the crowd. But the train, once overwhelming, now feels like home.
