The Idea

In the summer of 2021, I was in my home, locked in my house due to the COVID-19 fiasco. I had finished my 7th semester online, and was figuring out what do for my graduation project. Something inside me kept pushing me towards animation, even though I only had 2 animation projects in my portfolio, out of which none were complete. I was working as a graphic designer at the time, and knew that the work i was doing would not help me land an internship at an animation studio.

As a child, I always wondered the connections between the uppercase and lowercase sets of alphabets. Enter the 8th edition of the “36 Days of Type” challenge, which seemed like the perfect opportunity to explore different playful movements in type based on the forms of the alphabets, with the primary idea being to morph between the upper and lowercase letters as they walk, hop, swim or crawl forward.
